Description:
My goal with this post is to feature the new breakfast bowls from McDonalds and establish a call-to-action to buy these new bowls. These bowls are on a trial basis in McDonalds restaurants thorough out Southern California, but I wrote the post as if they were a new menu item nationally, and not regionally.
A recent Gallup poll stated that men eat fast food more often than women. This poll also revealed that there is a sweet spot of 33% of people who eat fast food only occasionally, totaling a couple time out of the week per month. Because of this, my target audience is men who occasionally eat at McDonalds. These men may be familiar with the McDonalds brand, but are not the average consumer. I am targeting men, between the ages of 25-45, who are professionals, may have children, and live an active lifestyle. By targeting this group, I think McDonalds has a chance to capture a segment of the population that they are currently missing. These men may be more likely to eat at their restaurant, if only they were offered choices that appealed to their tastes. I wanted to target people who may not eat at McDonalds, or any fast food restaurant on a regular basis, due to issues with food quality or health consciousness. I tried to appeal to a more health conscious man, but using sporty lingo. The release of these new breakfast bowls coincided with march madness, so I ran with that theme a little bit.
For the Instagram posts, I took the pictures myself and then tried to mimic the style of McDonalds Instagram posts. I added the McDonald’s Instagram background in Photoshop and played around with different filters and different looks to make it seem authentic.
